You deserve to be passionately pursued,
You deserve excellence,
You deserve to be treated with respect,
You are a daughter of the highest King.
My heart aches for these girls who are oblivious to the admiration of the creator. My heart is wrecked for the girl who leaves nothing to the imagination and accepts lust as a desirable form of love. My heart hurts for the girl who downs drink after drink in a momentary effort to escape the pains of this world.
You see in our earthly mindset, we will never be satisfied. Which is ironic because we were never meant to be satisfied by this world, we were created by Heavenly Hands. We were created by a God who never designed us to live in a sin-stained, tattered, hurting world. The perpetual lies, the anger, and the resentment that we experience every day of our lives were never designed to be something tangible to us. We try to fill ourselves up with these things. We think the perfect job will make us full. Or what about how physically attractive you are? Or maybe if you can just get into that size two dress or hit 200 likes on Instagram you will finally be fulfilled. Well, I have news for you, you will always seek after something bigger after you have succeeded, there will be no end because the only thing designed to fill us up completely is God and absolutely nothing else. It is okay to be broken. Embrace your brokenness. It does not grant you more grace from God, but rather reveals the depth of it.
Beloved daughters of the king, all these thoughts that are poured into your head about how worthless you are, are lies straight from the enemy's mouth. A girl whose heart and mind are diligently focused on serving God, loving His people, and sharing His gospel rarely has time to feel worthless. When these thoughts creep into your head dismiss them because you my dear were created in the image of God. Don't rely on your own beauty, your own intelligence, your own talent to find confidence, rely on Jesus for that. He is the only thing that will be able to sustain you. It hurts me everytime I tell a girl that she looks beautiful and she rubs it off like she's not, especially one that knows she is made in the image of God. You are beautiful, three simple words, yet they carry so much emotion.
We have this desire in our hearts to feel loved. It was crafted by the Creator and put there for one purpose. This purpose being to turn that desire into a passionate pursuit of Jesus. However, social media, magazine covers, and the internet have gotten in the way of the truth and we have started to look for love in areas that were not designed for this and will never fulfill us. Social media proclaims that a number of likes you get on a selfie are equivalent to how loved you are. Magazine covers show the way to be loved is to have a size 2 waist and a Kim K butt. The internet shouts that the way to be loved is by getting married, having a few kids, and maybe even a cute pup in your new bungalow. But Jesus looks at you and says that you are beautiful just the way you are. You are valuable with or without the bungalow. You are meaningful with or without a husband. You are something worth dying for. You beautiful because you were created in the most perfect man's image. He specifically picked out every detail of your body and created it in your mother's womb not leaving out even the slightest of details. How dare anyone have the authority to think that they could tell God that he made a mistake with them. How dare anyone say that they are not beautiful. You are a unique creation of God, one that this world has never seen before.
