Many people will tell you to embrace life. Embrace adventure. Embrace love. But when were you ever told to embrace yourself? Whoever you are, you are a good person to be. Your messiness makes you unique. Whatever quirks you have were given to you for a purpose. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT hide them. You were never designed to live in a spirit of fear. Embracing equals connecting. When you embrace your quirks you connect deeper with God. He designed you with the thought process used to to explain the universe. Every part of you was hand crafted, thought out, designed with specific intentions to connect better with Jesus. When you have a thought, act on it, because you have the ability to. If you have a joke, don't keep it inside let it out because God desgined you to be light hearted and bring joy. If you are smart use the amazing gift of knowledge that God has given you. If you are athletic give everything you have, because God gave everything He had to you. He never once gave a half effort, never once quit, and never once failed to try because He didn't think it would work. God gave His best for you, so you must give your best to Him.
Be proud of who you are, because I am, and more importantly God is. Embrace your curly crazy hair, your freckles, your laugh, and your smile. Stop hiding. God doesn't screw up and he defiantly didn't screw up on you. Create your own footprints and don't follow in the steps of others. Don't let bystanders define the way you see yourself, let the truth of the Lord define who you are. Color outside the lines because that is where the joy is. The people who get life are the ones who don't care what others think. The pursue a life of passion, fulfillment, and courage regardless of what people say about them. You see little one, people are going to say things no matter what, be who you are, be original. You are something this world has yet to see. You are beautiful, you are talented, you are intelligent. True attractiveness does not come from perfect skin, the best clothes, blue eyes, or a flawless physique. It comes from knowing that Jesus came two thousand years ago for you to forgive you of all your sins, your messiness, your embarrassing moments, your tears, your hurts, and your habits. Beauty comes from confidence, and when your are confident in who God is you will be confident in who you are, because you will know God doesn't make mistakes. Don't listen for an OK from the world. Be who you are. Wear sneakers with your prom dress, dance how you want to dance, let your hair down, play football with the boys and have makeovers with the girls. Be you. Don't do something because everyone else is doing it. Be original. Go outside the lines because that is were life starts. Don't be afraid to be different. Be kind, be good to people, tip well, look people in the eye, stand up to shake hands, hug tight, build others up, and love well. Love well because you know true love.
Little one I love you more than you can imagine. Do not hide yourself. Do not give a half effort. Be who you are, and be who you are 100%. Steve Prefontaine once said,"To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift." You my dear are a gift. Always give your best in everything that you do. You were not created to hide. You were not created to wish that you were different than the way you were designed to be. You were created with a purpose that surpasses all understanding. You were created by a man that has a truly unconditional love that is almost impossible for us to understand. It is not based on circumstances, but rather on truth, truth in who He is. Embrace you messy hair, your messy clothes, your messy life because that is how God designed you to be. I want you to have confidence, because you are smart, you are pretty, you are loved, and more than anything, you are you, a child of God who was hand chosen for this life.
