God's presence is powerful, almighty, everlasting. He is there in good times and in bad, the scary, the lonely, and everywhere in between. Gods presence is in fact completely overwhelming, awe inspiring, and to be very honest a little bit scary. The best feeling ever is when the Holy Spirit moves.
Isn't it amazing that we don't ever have to compete for His attention with others, but so sad that He does with us. He has to fight for our attention with the complex world of instant communication. Instead of devotionals in the morning we Facebook, time with God is interrupted with the occasional snapchat or text. The world has changed drastically since the words "Be still and know that I am God" were spoken into existence. We can't be still. We are always moving, always communicating, always doing something that requires our complete attention away from the man who gave us all of this in the first place. His presence revitalizes us. His presence restores us. His presence completes us.
When we ignore God's presence we come to a standstill. We try and take matters into our own hands. We get stuck in trivial matters and don't focus on what is important. His presence revitalizes our souls. As we sit quietly with Him he answers our prayers and gives us strength that can only come from Him. His presence can bring you to your knees and wonder. He is so powerful yet so gentle. So knowledgable yet so peaceful.
“Be still, and know that I am God!
I will be honored by every nation.
I will be honored throughout the world.”- Pslam 46:10
For God is not a God of disorder but of peace, as in all the meetings of God’s holy people.- 1 Corinthians 14:33
