The God of the Universe, Abba, Daddy, loves you more than you can imagine. So why does He give us good things to just rip them out from under us? This my friend, is the question of the century. I can sit in my room all day and stare blankly at my wall and ask why, why, WHY!! But we will never know why! God doesn't have to explain himself to us, He just wants us to trust Him. God lives in the past, present, and future, He is not controlled by this Earthly restraint of time. He moves freely. We need not fear the future for He is already there, He is not limited by time or space. So if God lives in the past, present, and future, He must know what is best for you! So this situation you are facing now that hurts so much is actually being used for your betterment! So instead of asking why, ask who.
Who gave this to you.
Do you remember Abraham? Old Abraham and Sarah. God gave Abraham a blessing. One of the main things we know Abraham for is the fact that he was the father to Isaac at such an old age. God blessed Abraham and Sarah with a child. One that took many trials and tribulations, but none the less God still came through with His promise. As you can imagine Abraham loved his son, especially since he was a miracle. Only one day God told Abraham to go sacrifice his son.
WHAT.
Abraham was furious. How could God tell Abraham to go kill his son after he went through so much to get him. Isaac was a gift from God! God can't take him back! However, Abraham was obedient. Just as Abraham was about to kill his son, God stopped him and Abraham was allowed to keep Isaac. God gives us gifts, but he wants to make sure the gift isn't greater than the gift-giver or the dream bigger than the dream-giver. Sometimes God gives us great gifts, but takes them back to show you where they came from. The gifts that He gives need to be stewarded for His glory not our own. Sometimes our gift needs to die so that it can be resurrected. We need to surrender them to God so that He can take full control. Most of the time these gifts are precious to us and they honor God. What's more important to you, the gift or God?
So it pretty much stinks when God takes back something that seems so good. Key word, seems. It seems good. The thing is this thing that we think is so good now, may turn out to hurt us in the long run. We don't know. All that we do know is that God ALWAYS has our best interest in mind. He protects us. Loves us. And most importantly sent His son to die for us. Our future is in His hands. He releases it moment by moment, day by day. He wants us to live in this day abundantly doing all that there is to do, each day is a glorious gift.
Who is God? In order to find the answer to this we need to live in His presence. When we do this we become more aware of God than the people and circumstances around us. It will increase our ability to love and encourage others. His peace will be very visible in our actions. It will buffer us from the world and we will not be easily shaken. Some things can not be learned by logic, but only by the Holy Spirit. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal himself to you.
